El Compadre (formerly South Philly's Barbacoa) is a nationally recognized restaurant that recently was a semi-finalist for a James Beard Award.

Besides serving wonderful food, Ben and Cristina are well known for their advocacy work with undocumented restaurant workers. Cristina herself is undocumented and uses her story to illustrate the kinds of issues undocumented workers face.

Special guests that evening will also include Merthus Mbonigada and Ellen Rampage who work with Nationalities Service Center's Gardening Project.
